RHEA AMERICANA

Felis silvestris

Rheas are ratites. They eat mainly grass, berries, fruit, frogs, lizards, bugs.

They can’t fly despite having large ornate wings - but they can run very fast and use their large wings spread out like an aeroplane for balance.

The dads are the best in the world as they build the nest and sit on the eggs.

Rheas love to wear pearl necklesses and get upset if anyone laughs at them.

They have three toes whereas Ostriches only have two.

Rheas are from South America which is why they have very fine feathers keeping them cool in summer and warm in winter.
