Potoroo

Potorous

A Potoroo is a small marsupial from Australia and Tasmania.

It uses its hind legs like a kangaroo but from the front it looks like a rat so it’s been named a rat kangaroo.

They are mainly nocturnal foraging at night for tubers, underground fungi, cranberries, worms and grubs.

Potoroos are expert diggers and make underground burrows to hide in during the day so you will need to be very quiet if you hope to see one.

Harry Potoroo came to the UK as an exchange student at Hogwarts.
